A Week in the Life of a Traveling Swim Instructor
A Week in the Life of a Traveling Swim Instructor
This week has been thrilling as I continue my journey as a swim instructor in Houston. After several weeks of searching for an indoor heated pool, I’m excited to announce that we’ve finally found the perfect spot on the south side of the city! This has been my main goal, especially for students who want to keep swimming during the colder months.
Since moving to Houston at the end of 2021, I’ve received numerous inquiries from individuals seeking swim lessons. However, without access to a suitable pool, I couldn’t accommodate them. Now, with this new facility, I’m relieved and excited to offer more accessible lessons to the community. The feedback from Houston residents eager to join us has been fantastic!
Access to swim lessons is crucial, especially as drowning rates continue to rise. To address this issue, I’ve partnered with another instructor who shares my passion for water safety. Together, we recently toured the new pool, and we absolutely loved it! The facility is fantastic, and I can’t wait to start working with new students.
I’m looking forward to getting people swimming in this amazing space soon. We’ll be opening registration for our adult swim clinic next month, and I can’t wait to see everyone dive in! We’re set to finish the winter season strong, and I’m excited to continue sharing my love for swimming with the Houston community!
Growing up in Los Angeles in a swimming family, I developed a love for water from an early age. While I swam competitively in high school, I realized my true passion was simply enjoying the water. To support myself through college, I worked as a lifeguard and began teaching swimming lessons in Pacific Palisades. My joy comes from helping students overcome their fear of water, and I teach with grace and compassion, ensuring we reach their goals together.
